So why? Loktak which the only lake can birth swampy/floating island(Keibul Lamjao National Park) for the only place of Sangai, the most beautiful animal.
It also remind and echoing place of the rare and great ancient love story Khamba and Thoibi i.e. it their birthplace.

In the story: Khamba was an orphan, was famous for his strength, truth, beautiful natures and good disciplines. Thoibi was the beautiful princess. She pulled up the women society as showing "women too have hearts, feel love, feel sorrow of separation, have rights to choice her selves." At that times the parents and brothers treated them like the domestic animals. A woman was given or married to anyone accordingly to the directives of the parents and the brothers only. Women had to face secretly or bear inner sadness never ending.

Thoibi with her wisdom and courage stood for Khamba who tended always on true paths. She faced various miseries, disturbers and even
received the punishment given by her father.
But she was the upmost, couldn't be defeated,
could reach her goal i.e. her love was pure, true, in reason, sacrifice, upmost and rightfulness.
